Try adding date syrup! Soak dates in hot water for 10 min to soften, remove pits, and blend with coconut cream until it becomes a paste. Great sugar substitute (still has natural fruit sugars), but gives some great fiber as well!

I just made these, doubled the recipe, and used a hodge podge of sweetener: 1/3 cup allulose, 1/3 cup swerve brown sugar, 1/3 cup swerve granulated sugar, and 1/3 cup maple syrup. I also added in some instant coffee granules and some cinnamon (2 T each maybe?) and it really made it taste “finished” with a depth of flavor! I will make these again!!

Oh man these sweet potato brownies are good. I expected them to taste healthy, I never expected they would be so fudgy and rich!

These are so delicious! I make them at least once a month and my 3 year old and 6 year old both devour them and ask me when I’m getting more sweet potatoes for more brownies! I make the whole recipe in the blender too.

I blend 6 Tbsp of oats, then set it aside. Next I heat a 10oz bag of frozen sweet potatoes in the microwave and then blend that up, add almond butter and blend until smooth. Then I add all the other ingredients and put in the pan. I always cook for exactly 20 min. and they come out perfect. The batter is quite thick, but I use a Ninja blender and it gets all the sweet potato chunks blended. I have tried this recipe with peanut butter and we very much prefer it with almond butter (Costco brand has worked better for us than others in this recipe).

In reply to Sara.

Sara, that is what I did and the internet said use 3/4 to 1 cup of maple syrup for every cup of sugar. I did the cup (ok maybe a bit more, my cocoa powder was not sweetened).

Also added some almond extract with the vanilla, used almond flour, added a bit of cinnamon, pecans and crunchy salt on top.
